Lunchtime Concert Series

During April and May 2010, The Blue Coat School Musical Society presented a series of lunchtime concerts in the beautiful Chapel. Our A Level Music Students, together with Professor Ian Tracey, Jonathan Aaasgard and Ian Buckle entertained and wowed the local community with their excellent performances. The series consisted of 5 concerts held every Thursday during the lunchtime period for five weeks and was a resounding success. Occasions were pleased to offer the Blundell Suite for refreshments after the concerts.

The next series of concerts will take place in February 2011, details of which will be posted on our website and also the school website nearer the time.

Make Do and Knit

March 2010, saw the launch of an exciting even in the Knitting and Craft Calendar. Make Do and Knit was held over a 2 day period. The Fair had a vintage feel, echoing drapers of yesteryear, were one could buy everything one needed from under one roof. Carefully selected retailers offered a wide selection of high quality knitting, spinning, dress-making and haberdashery supplies. Fashion Shows ran throughout the two days in the circular stone Chapel with it's glass domed ceiling. The Cafe, in the Blundell Suite also had a vintage feel, offering high quality, home cooked food at affordable prices.

The organisers were thrilled by the success of the event and we look forward to welcoming them back in the future.
